The origins of Valentine’s Day go back to St. Valentinus, an early Christian imprisoned under the Roman empire. Before his execution on February 14th, legend has it that he miraculously healed the daughter of his jailer, and left her a farewell letter signed “Your Valentine.” This poignant epithet has become the predecessor for the modern Valentine card.¹

At ConTRAPtions, no one will imprison you per se (we don’t actually lock you in a room), but you might have to outwit death and/or arrest! You’ll have to rally your loved ones for some teamwork in order to pull it off. Escape rooms are a great way to spend time with family. Even though family members are always the best at pushing our buttons, just remember, ‘Love is patient, love is kind’ (1 Cor. 13:4). These are your people, so you can’t escape the love! Put your patience into practice, and don’t let the adrenaline get on your nerves. Just have a blast. (Not literally, although that might happen if your time runs out in Mafia Galley😉

There is plenty of romance to be had in our escape rooms, too. We’ve been the date night activity of choice for countless couples, as well as the site of three different marriage proposals. What better way to spend time with your amore than stealing a diamond or cheating death!
